Have you ever taken the time to really think about the advantages that come with different types of garage doors? We’ve found that many people tend to generalise garage doors under one category but there are so many different types to choose from nowadays, including roller shutter, sectional, up and over, around the corner and side-hinged among other operation types. We’re going to be focusing on a particular type of door in this article; sectional.
Sectional garage doors have been around for quite some time, however, they’ve advanced a great deal, so much so that they can now be very easy to operate, such as using a remote control or fob. That said, it’s not the modern automation that has made this type of garage door so popular, there are many advantages, such as:
Easy to use
Even manual sectional garage doors are very easy to use, so you can imagine how great these doors are when automation is included. What’s really great about the sectional design though is that thy only go up or down, not in or out, so you can park your car right up to the front of the garage and still have access. This, of course, is not possible with roller shutter garage doors or side-hinged doors, so in that sense, they’re much smarter in operation and they will only operate by handle if manual and this is so simple to use.
Everybody likes a garage door that doesn’t require a great deal of care and attention. That’s not to say we’re lazy, it’s just that with so many other areas to focus on in our homes, having a garage door to maintain regularly can be a big job. With sectional garage doors, they really don’t require a great deal of work. As long as you make sure no parts are showing signs of wear or are broken, they’ll continue working fine, whilst you can pay to have someone service your door each year to ensure there are no underlying problems.
Clean and tidy appearance
Sectional garage doors are contemporary in style, but they can look great beside modern and traditional homes, whilst there are many different styles, designs and finishes to choose from. Carteck sectional doors are extremely popular and that’s mainly down the many styles on offer. With timber finishes, a choice of colours and high-quality materials, you really can’t go wrong. Also, you’ll be guaranteed German engineering at its very best, so there’s no need to worry about strength, durability and resilience because Carteck doors really do have it all!
So these are just a few reasons why you may want to consider a sectional garage door over other types, however, please note that this type of door does require a reasonable amount of headroom. So if space above your garage is sacred to you (many people like storage above the door) then this probably won’t be right. They generally take up more room than roller garage doors, however, most garages nowadays suit this type of door so as long as you have plenty of storage space to your walls, you can use the area above the garage to fit the sectional garage door when it’s open.
